Woman Stable in New South Wales Meningococcal Case

A woman is stable after becoming the Hunter’s eighth confirmed case of meningococcal case of 2016.

The woman is in a Hunter hospital and close contacts have been prescribed clearance antibiotics.

This case has no links to former cases.

There were nine cases across the region in 2015 and 11 in 2014.

Initial meningococcal symptoms may include leg pain, cold hands or feet as well as abnormal skin colour.
