A doctor who diagnosed a young Queenslander with a cold had no way of knowing his patient would die from meningitis six days later, a coronial inquest has found.
Dr Marco Zorzetto saw Daniel Christopher Roulant, 22, on November 23, 2017, at the Holland Park Family Medical Practice and believed his patient had a viral head cold.
Following the GP visit, Mr Roulant’s flatmates at their Woolloongabba sharehouse recalled him appearing fine and well the next few days.
On November 29, he left work early after he had become unwell, started shivering and went to sleep during his shift at Fortitude Valley’s Cloudland.
